Can you believe that Advent and Christmas are near?
This year’s Advent theme is Comfort in our darkness. Look for our theme and dates on our website and on Facebook.
We will have fun on Sunday afternoon, Nov 26, 3 pm, as we “hang the greens” in preparation. Join us for the work, camaraderie and brief prayer in preparation for Advent.
Wed. eve on Dec 6, at 6:30 pm we will celebrate St. Nicholas Day – with an Advent Event for children, families and adults who want to have fun. Crafts and snacks and celebration… with a special visitor.
Sunday afternoon, Dec. 10, at 3 pm we are invited to worship at Trinity United Methodist Church- for “Blue Christmas”- a vesper service designed for those who may have a hard time being merry this Christmas: due to loss, illness, troubles. Pastor Norm Wasson will deliver the meditation and Pastor Ann will serve with Pastor Katie and Pastor Patty in leadership.
Christmas Eve is Sunday this year: we will have morning worship in the parlor- come as you are, bring a breakfast goodie to share and we will gather round the piano to sing carols and hear some of their stories in worship and prayer. Then at 7 pm, we gather for our traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion.
Advent is the church’s new year, Christmas celebrates the new thing God has done for us, coming to be with us in Jesus Christ, and the New Year 2018 promises renewal as the Pastor Nominating Committee gets started and we continue to ready ourselves for new pastoral leadership.
I hope you’ll join us….
Ann Wasson, Transitional Pastor
